Two staff members at the hotel in Galle where members of the England cricket squad are residing during their tour of Sri Lanka have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a report in Sri Lanka's 'The Daily Mirror', the Galle District Health Services Director's office said that the two employees work in the kitchen of the Lighthouse Hotel. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has said that it is not concerned by the development.
"We are not concerned. Our protocols have been excellent and we continue to be vigilant. We are the most compliant team in world cricket. We are the only international team in any sport to have a COVID compliance officer. He is responsible for ensuring we meet the highest of standards across our COVID protocols," an ECB spokesperson said.
