Tamil film actor Vijay's movie 'Jananaayagan' appears likely to face further delays in its release. Lengthy arguments, lasting nearly three hours, took place in the Madras High Court regarding the film's release and censor certificate. Following the arguments, a division bench headed by Chief Justice Mahendran Mohan Srivastava and Justice G. Arul Murugan reserved its judgment.

The Madras High Court's single bench had ordered the Censor Board to issue a U/A certificate for 'Jananaayagan', but the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) appealed to the division bench.

Additional Solicitor General ARL Sundaresan argued on behalf of the CBFC. He stated that the board was not given sufficient time to file a counter-affidavit, and that the producers did not challenge the decision to send the film to a revision committee for a second review.
