Designer Amit Agarwal, who recently showcased his collection at the India Couture Week, revealed that his collection was inspired by philosophy, science, religion, mythology and mathematics, all of which represented different aspects of the times.
Named Antevorta after the Greek goddess of the future, his collection was showcased by Bollywood stars like Fatima Sana Shaikh and Abhay Deol.
Amit has had a long journey in the world of fashion. He is an alumnus of National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi.
After his graduation, Amit exhibited his collections through student competitions around the world and started working with some of the country's most accomplished designers like Tarun Tahiliani.
When he showcased his designs at India Couture Week, the designer said: “This collection is inspired by five concepts of time -- philosophy, science, religion, mythology and mathematics. Each section is framed as a philosophy at a time. I believe in the cyclical nature of time and feel that the past, present and future continue in an eternal loop.
His collection includes a new take on Banarasi sarees.
Talking about this, Amit said, “By using pre-owned Banarasi sarees, we tried to give them a new lease of life by using new techniques, saving them and creating a new look of sarees.”
