Iconic gold bikini worn by Princess Leia fetches $175,000 at auction

The iconic gold bikini worn by late star Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in 'Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi' has sold for $175,000 (Rs 1,46,51,437) at auction.


The dress, which features hip rings and bracelets, is one of the most iconic costumes in film history.


Fisher wore it when her character, Princess Leia, was captured and imprisoned by Jabba the Hutt.


The dress was snapped up at Heritage Auctions in Dallas.


The auction also includes a miniature Y-wing starfighter ship used in the mission to destroy the Death Star in 'Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope'.


It sold for a staggering $1.55 million after a bidding war.


The model is one of two "Hero" Y-Wing filming miniatures produced by the Industrial Light and Magic visual effects team, reports Femalefirst.co.uk.


According to Heritage Auctions on X, "It never saw the light of day."


Other notable items sold at auction include a wand used by Daniel Radcliffe in 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' for $52,000, a hammer prop used in 'Thor' for $81,000 and a dress worn by Macaulay Culkin in 'Home.' Alone' $47,500.
