The former Bollywood actress has cleared the air about being approached for the controversial show “Bigg Boss 18” hosted by superstar Salman Khan. She said it was a complete rumor and a ratings boost tactic at best.
Somy has reportedly been approached for the controversial reality show "Bigg Boss 18", according to a list of participants floating on the internet.
Denying the rumours, Somy said: “I can't leave my non-profit to be a part of a show where the shooting duration is so long. I say with the utmost respect for the show that I haven't seen a single episode of it and don't understand anything about it.
"When I heard it was scripted and I was going to be a contestant, I never talked to anyone from the show who worked behind the scenes," she said.
Scripted reality shows are an oxymoron, she said.
“Even if they want to approach me as a competitor, I will not consider participating. Therefore, it is a complete rumor and at best a ratings boost tactic, which the networks often do.
"In the 90s I was told to pretend to be having an affair with a certain actor before that particular film was released for publicity, so it's not surprising at all," she added.
